The disgraced Patraeus offers his support to Obama.

Petraeus' supporting statement on Syria and why it is so much crap:  

“I strongly support congressional approval of President Obama’s request for authority to undertake military action against the Syrian regime of Bashar al Assad. Such action is necessary in order to deter future use of chemical weapons in Syria and to degrade the regime’s overall military capabilities.

“Failure of Congress to approve the president’s request would have serious ramifications not just in the Mideast but around the world. Military action against the Syrian regime is, thus, necessary not just to deter future use of chemical weapons in Syria and elsewhere, but also to ensure that Iran, North Korea and other would-be aggressors never underestimate the United States’ resolve to take necessary military action when other tools prove insufficient.”

Aside from his obvious moral failures while in Afghanistan,  the fact that that war,  one which he commanded for a time,  is a lost cause,  the equally obvious fact that he is under obligation to the White House to support their military causes,  since they have all of his private emails,  and his moral failings with regard to the murders in Libya along with his willingness to support the cover-up . . . . . aside from all this,  we have these issues with his statement: 

1.   In referring to “military action,”  the general offers no clue as to what action will be taken,  the intensity of the assault,  our reactions to any and all counter attacks,  or how we plan to weaken Assad without giving aid to the godless murders in al-Qaeda. 

2.  He does not defend the fact that we have waited for two stinking years and watched 120,000 Syrians die nor does he pretend to know just how harmful this delay has been to our national credibility “elsewhere” in the world. 

3.  He assumes the attack will be severe enough to cause enemy states to fear and respect the US.    

4.  He does not explain why he trusts Obama as a military leader after five years of watching our nation and B Obama bumble military efforts in Egypt,  Iraq,  Afghanistan,  Libya,  side with the communist in Honduras,  frame Israel as an "occupier" of Palestinian lands,  work at making friends with Hugo Chavez,  sit on his butt while watching Iran become a nuclear power and promise more “flexibility” in dealing with the Russians,  following the 2012 elections.

On a personal level,  I have to ask:  How long does it take to write 30,000 emails to some bimbo while serving as a commander on the battlefield?  How long does it take to read 30,000 returning emails from that bimbo?  And why did he lie about the cause of the Benghazi killings? 

He is a disgraced military leader,  with no moral center,  guilty of lying about the Benghazi and the deaths of 17 Seal Team Six soldiers,  shot down by the Taliban while American airships flew overhead and watched our soldiers die without returning fire. 

Patreaus can go to hell,  as far as I am concerned.
