Obama’s Syrian policy
We begin with two years of
silence. Libs supported this “policy” in
mass. Such is the "way of peace" for a Progressive.
A year into his policy of silence, Obama spoke of a “red
line” that “would change my calculus” but
ruled out military action (again, this was more
than one year ago); the libs supported
this “policy” in mass, but Assad was totally unimpressed.
One year later, this
past June, we have the first confirmed
chemical attack and Obama decided to pretend the situation had not gotten
worse; the libs loved this continued tough talking policy of in-action, believing that doing nothing, once again, equals "peace."
Meanwhile 100,000 Syrians had
been killed in this civil war, by June of 2013. Obama's only concern, however, was limited to those who died by chemical poisoning. Still,
silence and the continuation of his doing nothing foreign policy: the
Libs were at peace with themselves.
Four weeks ago, 1400
Syrians were gassed to death, 400 of
them children, and Obama made the
decision for a limited military strike against Syria, without going to Congress; the libs were not so supportive.
Nearly two weeks later,
just when an attack seemed immediate,
Obama again changed his mind, and
decided to get Congressional support.
Today, he realizes
that he has no international support,
nothing from NATO, forsaken by
the G20, and a 60% “no” vote from the
American people. The Senate is split on
the issue (25/25 with 50 Senators undecided) and the House has 220 votes against a war resolution supporting Obama's mystery plan for war in Syria.
Latest change of direction
Yesterday (Sunday), in a London news conference ,
Secretary of State John Kerry suggest that Assad could avoid an American
attack by turning “over every single bit of his chemical weapons to the
international community in the next week. Turn it over, all of it, without
delay and allow a full and total accounting."
Finally, after nearly two weeks of Obama/Kerry speak, we have this poll taken by CNN:

So, there you have it, as clear a political statement on Syria as the Man of Words can get . . . . . . . . and we still do not know what the heck he is doing.
