Understand that the jury has decided to work through dinner
and into the night, which tells me that they are very close to a verdict.
Either manslaughter -- they asked for
"clarification" on the rules for manslaughter.
or
Innocent of all charges. Apparently, they have
dismissed the charge of 2nd degree murder or whatever the most comprehensive
charge.
They may be about to consider and decide against the less
charge of manslaughter, but, more than likely, they are looking
to impose that verdict.
What a shame. This has been a politically driven trial
from the very beginning. And the angry black community looks to score
another victory. Add this to the innocent verdict of OJ Simpson.
Update: in response to the request for clarification on manslaughter, the judge has told the jury that she cannot enter into a general discussion of the subject, but can answer an and all specific questions dealing with that issue.
Update II : The jury never responded to the judge's comments about wanting to answer only specific questions. The fact that they never "got back" to the judge, was a hopeful indication that were about to dismiss the notion of manslaughter, as well as the murder charge.
