Our nation's security is in the hands of a bunch of buffoons and no one seems to care.

 You tell me what is wrong.  

For starters,  we no longer capture and interrogate battlefield captured jihadist.  

And here in the States,  our top watchdog agencies didn't know that the Boston bombing brothers had terror contacts in Russia.  The Russian's knew,  but we didn't.  The Fort Hood jihadist who killed 13 and injured 32 in the name of Allah,  he had contacts with Al Qaeda via emails,  and our top security agencies either had no clue or were ordered to cover it up.  We did not know the seriousness of the threat in Benghazi when the Brits and the Red Cross did.  The shoe bomber failed to bring down a passenger plane with 250 people on it,  not because of Home Land Security,  but because he could detonate his homemade bomb.  The Obama Administration revealed secret information related to Israel's national security.  Biden exposed Navy Seal Team Six and 17 members of that elite force were murdered by the Taliban,  as a result.  The ATF lost tract of 2,200 guns and rifles in the Fast and Furious scandal;  two federal agents died along with more than 300 Mexican nationals,  as a result.  NSA hired a 29 year old named Snowden, who had no security clearance to work in their most sensitive security position.  He stole a host of files and fled to Hong Kong.  On top of that,  the FBI lost tract of him,  and really does not know where he is,  at this writing.
