<<<< Measuring the American labor force, we are running a consistent 159 million, down from a high during the Bush years of 166 million (the chart shows 163m in Bushes last year). Only 142 million of the 159 million on the chart are actually working, leaving nearly 17 million Americans out of work but looking. The chart does not show the 8.8 million working age Americans who are no longer being counted on anyone's chart, and an additional 8.7 million who have gone on disability.
From the mind of Michael,
at EconomicCollagpse.com, we have
these words: According to the mainstream
media, the U.S. unemployment rate is falling steadily. Headlines all over
the nation boldly declared that "236,000 jobs" were added to the
economy in February, but what they didn't tell you was that the number of
Americans "not in the labor force" rose by 296,000. And that is
how they are getting the unemployment rate to go down - by pretending that huge
numbers of unemployed Americans don't want jobs. Sadly, as you will see below,
the truth is that the percentage of working age Americans that have a job is
just 0.1% higher than it was exactly three years ago. And we have not
even come close to getting back to where we were before the last economic
crisis. For example, more than 146 166million Americans were
employed back in 2007. But today, only 142.2 159 million [nominally] Americans have a job
even though our population has grown steadily since then. You will want to read the full article, of course.
It is hyperlinked above.
A quick look at this posts chart, will tell you that the number of those employed has not changed since the recession ended in early 2010. On
average, since Obama took office, America's workforce has been stick at 159 million, in spite of the fact that the population continues to add young people to the workforce. It is clear that Obama has no clue what effects employment, nor does he really care. Understand that the more folks who are unemployed, the greater the need for expanding the welfare need, at least in the
mind of a B Obama. And, so, he
expands government rather than cut business taxes and reduce regulatory costs
as he moves this nation into an irreversible welfare state, similar to that of the European Union.
