Labor report for first time claims: steady and declining.

The Unemployment Insurance Weekly Claims Report was released this morning, Thursday, March 21,  for the week ending with March 16.   The 336,000 new claims number was a 2,000 increase from the previous week's 334,000 (originally report as "332,000"). The four-week moving average,  declined by 7,500 to 339,750. This indicator is approaching 2007 pre-recession levels around 315K.

Our friends at Zero Hedge.com committed on the current labor benefits report:   “Overall a snoozer of a report.”
