Unemployment benefit claims increased by 20,000, last week.

In the week ending February 16,  seasonally adjusted first time claims were 362,000, an increase of 20,000 from the previous week's revised figure of 342,000. The 4-week moving average was 360,750, an increase of 8,000 from the previous week's revised average of 352,750.

In short,  while the economy is improving,  it remains the slowest recovery in our history.  Unemployment is has been on the increase for the past three months,  with that number higher than when Obama took office,  back in 2009.
