How big was that "first" debate? Maybe the most one sided victory in the history of debates. Here is a quick overview.

I am just going to mention who says what,  but without linkage.  You will just have to trust me.

My purpose is to build a circumstantial case for a Romney surge (which is different from a Romney "bounce").

Because of that debate,  we have all of the following:

Romney now leads the Independent vote 51 - 35. (Politico/Battleground)

Among Independents,  Romney won the debate by a margin of 78/14  -  a monster victory.

With the general population,  Romney won the debate 73/20,  a margin of 53 points,  the largest such margin in the history of debates  --  again,  a monster victory.

Gallup gives Romney a 5 point bounce to a tie with Obama.

Before the debate,  Pew had Romney down by 8 pts.  After the debate,  a 12 point swing moving Romney into a  4 point lead  . . . . .  an incredible turn-around.

There is, now,  a 13 enthusiasm gap,  86%  say they are "extremely likely" to vote for Romney while only 73% for Obama.

Romney has, incredibly,  moved from 22 points down with women to 4 down  -  an upward move of 18 points.  Some polls have the Governor tied with Obama with the women's vote.

Romney closes the gap to within 2 or "tied" in all of the Swing states.

Romney's military lead over Commander Obama,  has expanded to a 66/26 margin  --  close to a 3 to 1 advantage.

Now that you have all of the above in mind,  you are fully equipped to see just how bad that first debate really was,  and why the Obama Campaign has come unhinged.
