What did Sarah have in mind with her appearance on The Today Show? Just an innocent conversation with old friends, or . . . . .

Sarah co-hosted the Today Show this morning, during the 8.00 am hour,  and did a great job.  She appeared at ease in the presence of an enemy setting. There was some "banter" back and forth with no one "going for the throat."  In the end, it was a good experience for all.

I thought her comments,  at different  points in the hour,  were on target and  used to drive the discussion.  I thought her caution with regard to folks trying to be both parent and friend to their children was especially timely and well advised.

If her presence on this show was to demonstrate a political icon,  much maligned by the very people appearing on camera with her,  at ease in a hostile environment and much advanced from days gone by,  she succeeded in spades.

I am a bit surprised at the mildly partisan and negative reporting of this event on Glenn Beck's,  The Blaze, however.  Apparently The Blaze copied over an AP story and ran with that review.

At any rate (maybe I am being too defensive),  the Blaze article has three video clips of the morning's events.  You can check out the video's by clicking on the Blaze hyperlink.

Understand that two weeks ago,  Sarah Palin shock everyone who cares,  by  scoring noticeably higher in terms of approval/disapproval rating, than any of the four GOP primary candidates (yes,  there are four of them).

From Public Policy Polling (A Washington Post feature),  March 23rd, we have this:

The talk of a brokered convention never seems to die down and one interesting finding on this poll was that Sarah Palin is far more popular than any of the actual Republican candidates in the race. Her net favorability is +48, with 68% of voters rating her favorably to only 20% with a negative opinion. That compares favorably to +29 for Santorum, +19 for Romney, and -26 for Paul.”
“Palin is someone GOP delegates might be able to unify around in the case of a hopelessly deadlocked convention. She is seen positively by Gingrich voters (85/7), Santorum supporters (80/10), and Romney ones (57/27) alike. That’s a contrast to Romney who is disliked by both Santorum (38/48) and Gingrich (32/54) voters and Santorum who is disliked by Romney (38/48) voters and only seen narrowly favorably by Gingrich (46/42) backers.

Maybe today's event will enhance these numbers.  It is for certain,  it will not hurt . . . . . . Palin holding her own in the home "of the enemy?"  Its all good for the Governor.
