Talking point #348: stop with the economy. If this election is not centered in a foundational ideology and the future of this great nation, the coming election is rather meaningless.
Standing in
the fields of Gettysburg, President
Lincoln gave us these immortal words,
words that need to abound in the leadership of today. It is time to come come full circle and
embrace the hopes and dreams of those in our past.
“It
is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which
they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be
here dedicated to the great task remaining before us—that from these honored
dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full
measure of devotion—that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have
died in vain—that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom
and, that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not
perish from the earth.” -- Abraham Lincoln
Contrast the
words above with the nonsense spoken by our Radicalized First Lady, in May of 2008:
"Barack knows
that we are going to have to make sacrifices; we are going to have to change
our conversation; we're going to have to change our traditions, our history;
we're going to have to move into a different place as a nation."
Lincoln
called the nation back to its beginnings,
in the midst of the greatest depression of our history - the uncivil
Civil War. The Princeton Beauty, Michelle Obama, wants us to move away from the Lincolns of
our heritage and into a different place, as a nation; one that has full definition only in the mind
of Barack Obama. It is his history, his conversation, his
traditions Michelle wants us to accept.
The coming
election is about this choice. It is not
about the economy, stupid; it is about the
direction of this country.
It used to be about the economy, but now since the economy is improving, you have to create another boogeyman.
