So you think that Bush is to blame for the sad state of the economy? Maybe you should read this.

Note: actually, this estimates the year, 2009. This year must be shared by both Obama and Bush. Fiscal 2009 belongs to Bush, officially. TARP monies (700 billion) were spent during this time as was the Obama Stimulus - a trillion dollars after interest, the 2009 Omnibus bill of 430 billion dollars and an estimated 600 billion in Bush "regular" spending. Not a good year for the debt. Total spending for this fiscal year was well over 4 trillion in these and other expenditures. Since Obama, our gross [official] budget averages around 3.6 trillion. While 2009 was an anomaly, the same totals for Obama are not.
Note: in fact, Obama has spent 4.5 trillion in public debt through September of 2011. Deficit spending, because of Obama policies, from 2010 through 2016 is now estimated to be closer to 9 trillion dollars, nearly twice the Heritage estimate. Still think it is all Bush's fault?

All of the above - except for "notes" - is from Heritage.
