Barack is no closer to capturing Osama bin Laden that was George Bush.
Remember those "shovel ready jobs" he talked about. Turns out there were not such jobs. Obama had to publicly admit this during the 2010 summer.
His decision to send 10,000 fewer troops to Afghanistan than asked for is proving to have been a serious mistake. The war is not going well and Obama is not well thought of, over and against George Bush.
Obama "stopped waterboarding." Bush stopped the use of wateboarding in 2004 and used it on only three individuals. Obama replaced waterboarding with outright killing the enemy with drone attacks and continuing the use of rendition (giving our captives to foreign authorities for interrogation by torture, but "hey," we didn't do it)
Obama's first new release after becoming president was with al Jazeera, a Muslim news agency.
He intended to pass Cap and Trade. That did not happen.
He promised comprehensive immigration legislation during the first year of his term. He had the congressional mussel to get the job done but decided to do other things. He will lose Hispanic votes because of this.
He failed with the Dream Act - another immigration scam.
His Senate seat in Illinois was lost to a Republican, as was Ted Kennedy's - an indication of the People's angst.
His Stimulus bill failed to accomplish it stated purpose - stimulate the economy out of the recession via jobs creation. In fact, only 4% of the near billion dollars in that bill went to the creation of jobs (infrastructure and contracts).
Using Obama's new math, he created or saved 3.5 million unconfirmed jobs. Using the same math, Bush would have created or saved close to 20 million jobs.
He took down the CIA's terrorist interrogation teams and replaced them with FBI "high value interrogation units." These units have never been put into place. Our FBI is, therefore, limited in its ability to interrogate homeland terrorists.
There is no budget, written or otherwise, for fiscal year 2010. That is a failure on the part of the Dems . . . . . first time in history this has happened.
There are 13 appropriation bills attached to the annual budget. They were to have been written and signed into law by October 1 of 2010. None of these appropriation bills got out of committee. These bills fund the federal government. We have never failed to write these bills. Another first for Obama. Gross negligence on the part of the Democrats and Mr. Obama.
His decision to try KSM in civilian court in New York was strongly rebuffed by Democrats and Republicans, alike.
The Department of Labor is charged with the reporting of corruption or the lack thereof in our nation's union. The Office of Labor Management Statistics [within the DOL] actually does the collecting and publishing this information. The annual report, due in January of 2010, never happened. The annual report for 2011 is nowhere in sight. Bush never failed in this responsibility. Obama has yet to comply. LINK
Obama promised to increase capital gains taxes from 15 to 20 percent. He could not do this. Promise broken.
He promised to close loopholes for tax deductions of CEO's . He did not complete this task. There remains plenty of loopholes. Another broken promise from the Novice.
He promised to create foreclosure prevention legislation to include a foreclosure prevention funding. If the key word is "prevention," this is another broken campaign promise.
"Will eliminate all income taxation of seniors making less than $50,000 per year. This will eliminate taxes for 7 million seniors -- saving them an average of $1,400 a year . ." This was never mentioned after election day. I know. I am a senior citizen.
He promised to end "no bid" contracts for jobs over 25 million. In stead, under the Stimulus bill, all labor contracts over 25 million are to be awarded to unions only - and many of these contracts are "no bid " contracts.
He promised to repeal the Bush tax cuts for the highest income brackets. His compromise with the GOP found him breaking this promise.
He promised to phase out deductions and exemptions for the highest wage earners. That did not happen.
He promised to end bonuses for CEOs in companies going into bankruptcy. Didn't happen.
He promised that Americans could purchase safe drugs from outside this country. Big Pharma said "no" and Obama said, "Yes um boss."
He promised 50 million in HIV aid, globally applied, by 2013. Did not happen.
Direct the Secretary of Health and Human Services to conduct a comprehensive study of federal cancer initiatives. This promise was never given a second thought.
"Barack Obama would direct the Small Business Administration to amend regulations under the Small Business Act that provide preferences in federal contracting to small businesses owned by members of socially and economically disadvantaged groups to include individuals with disabilities. --- did not happen.
