Editor's notes: Almost exactly 24 hours ago, this editor wrote his first review of the Glenn Beck gathering. In the meantime, we have experienced a record Saturday audience here at the real Midknight Review. Typically, our weekday traffic is somewhere between 70 and 140 hits per day (just for the main page). On the weekends, life is very different with Saturday being our least attended day of the week. Saturdays run between 20 and 45 hits -- 45 being exceptional.
Point of post: no, we are not getting ready to brag about anything other than the Glenn Beck gathering. We have revised our estimate of bodies in attendance: 600,000 is a solid number as an estimate of bodies in attendance. An additional 200,000 to 500,000 watched on 130,363 home computers.
AND . . . . . . . . blogs such as ours have had record setting days. Not just a record, but a huge increase. Our numbers for Saturdays are given above. IT WAS SATURDAY, for crying out loud. And our blog had 256 hits in the 24 hours following the Event - 10 times our normal count !!! Can you imagine what the "big boys" are doing in terms of weekend traffic?
Nothing but good for the Conservative grassroots organizations, nation wide.
Again, we had an increase in concerned onlookers of 10 times our weekend numbers. Many established conservative blogs have traffic of 40,000 hits per day and others, have even more. Their traffic increased, as well.
It is safe to say that this single event, full of passion and faith and a call to the greatness of a nation unlike any in world history, has and will touch 60 to 80 million people. You say "What ??" Let me tell you that I have talk to 15 folks I know who did not watch the event but wanted to know "how it went."
AND I AM NOT DONE TALKING. There are hundreds of thousands of "big mouths" such as this editor.
