A bloc of Senate Democrats could decide not to support a White House-brokered deal on tax cuts and unemployment benefits, thereby putting the plan in danger, according to the second-ranking Senate Democrat.
"Well, there is, you know, there is a group that may walk. Let's say at some point you've gone too far," Durbin said during an interview on NPR. "If the Republicans overreach — if they start including some of their pet projects into this compromise when it comes to the tax code, you could find a walkout on the Democratic side. People saying, 'You've just pushed it too far.' " . . . . . LINK
Editor's notes: look, this commentary is the tip of the iceburg. And what a fix Democrat leaders find themselves in. If they walk out, who is holding whom "hostage?" Finally, their own rhetoric has boxed them in. They have nowhere to go. This is a fight they should have had two years ago. Now ?? Time will run out for these procrastinators. As we see it, they really have no choice.
If they do not approve this compromise, millions will lose their unemployment benefits. And who will they blame.
Hint: not the Republicans. They made a deal with the leader of the Democrat Party. It ain't their fault noooooooooo more.
If you are a liberal Democrat or a Republican moderate (there is no difference), you have to be saying,
We are all so screwed !!!
