If opposition to Donald Trump sets me against a whole list of conservative favorites and patriotic heros, so be it.

My litmus test for a well reasoned conservative patriot includes opposition to Donald Trump  . . . . . . .   period.  Surprisingly,  that puts me on the outs with

Breitbart.com,  Mark Levin,  maybe Rush Limbaugh,  and many in the tea party movement including Sarah Palin (?) as well as the flame thrower,  Ann Coulter.  All have been among others on a long list of favorites.

Understand that Trump, on a personal level,  is everything conservatives have despised.  Apparently the hard Right has been blowing smoke when it demands character and faith in its candidates.  We now know that this is not true   . . . .    because Trump has neither.  Who knew,  seriously.

We have no choice but to let this Trump nonsense play itself out   . . . . .   but,  in the end,  I simply will not vote for a classless man who treats me like a gullible sucker.  Ain't going to it.

More than this,  the ongoing debate is forcing me to reconsider who I see as true, patriotic,  conservatives.  That "reconsideration" is an ongoing process with no hard decisions until the end of this primary season.

  1. You are not alone. I listen to Hugh Hewitt every day. He is great and thinks Trump is a buffoon. I doubt that Heritage supports a Trump candidacy, as well.

  2. I don't know if Rush supports Trump. His point, I believe, is that Boehner and McConnell have given the right and hard right the shaft. Truthfully, these two men are an embarrassment. They have don nothing to advance the cause of Conservative politics, They could be on the stump each and every day, but they cannot find the time to do that. They have made no lasting difference whatsoever. Remember, they promised to swamp Obama with one bill after another aft the 2014 election . . . . . . . lies lies lies. I understand what you say about Trump, but he is my vote against these do nothing leaders.

  3. Actually, I am in good company. George Wills, Heritage, Charles Krauthammer, The Daily Caller, The Washington Examiner and others.

Caveat: I reserve the right to change my mind as to whether or not I will vote for this pig of a man. I may decide that he is better of two evils. Time will tell. Sarah Palin is firmly in his camp and I profoundly respect her opinion.
