The news maker of the day? Leon Panetta admits (for the second time) that enhanced interrogations and waterboarding lead, in part, to the death of Osama bin Laden.

Today,  Sunday,  Feb 3,  Panetta confirmed earlier admissions that challenge the misleading denials of John McCain and Diane Feinstein, that waterboarding produced nothing in terms of actionable information.

“The real story was that in order to put the puzzle of intelligence together that led us to Bin Laden, there were a lot of pieces out there that were a part
of that puzzle. Yes, some of it came from some of the tactics that were used at that time, interrogation tactics that were used. But the fact is we put together most of that intelligence without having to resort to that.”

Back on May 3,  of 2011,  Panetta made an even more emphatic statement
about the results of waterboarding:

"Whether we would have gotten the same information through other approaches I think is always gonna be an open question,” Panetta said,  implying in this earlier interview,  that enhanced interrogations  supplied information that was not discovered using any other method of questioning.
