Democrat turnout: 171,000, down from 240,000 in 2008 (the last Democrat caucus)

We have the first look into the comparative enthusiasm record between the Dems and the GOP.

In 2012, the GOP set a record for turnout of 122,000,  breaking the record set in 2008 of 120,000.  This year?  The GOP turnout exceeded all expectations with a total of 180,000.

The Dems posted 240,000 in 2008.  They did not have a caucus in 2012 because Obama was the incumbent candidate.   This year?  the total turnout was a pathetic 171,000 (per DNC  estimate) in a state where Dems outnumber Republicans,  substantially.
