The readership should know that California has ALL of the gun laws Barack Obama and his horde of peace-niks have been calling for, for years. Our state laws include limited magazine capacity; "universal" registration within the state; a written test; a separate security check for every gun purchases except those purchases on the same day; a ten day waiting period; no direct gun purchases via online purchase or purchase from outside the borders of California; no permits for the mentally ill or for proven felons; no gun show "loop holes" (all guns purchased at a gun are regulated to include a 10 waiting period, written tests, and pick up at a registered dealer.
I own four guns in this legislative climate, as well as several hundred rounds of ammo for my shotguns and 9mm . . . . all of this legal.
I have no intentions of ever complying with a confiscation order. At the same, I intend to submit to all laws that allow ownership after their implementation, whether I agree with the particular law or not.
Understand that I am not the problem, here. My guns are for home defense and an occasional trip to the range. I do not hunt. When I write, "I am not the problem," I mean to include all those honest gun owners across the United States - virtually all of the 6 million NRA members.
Understand that when the Left uses the misleading number "33,000," in describing annual gun deaths in this country, that number includes 21,400 suicides (65%) and another 10 million deaths by regional domestic terrorist known as "inner city gangs." The total of these two categories is, obviously, 31,400. The remaining 1,600 deaths includes mass shootings, death by cop during an arrest situation and accidental deaths by gun,
Today, the Manchin-Toomey proposal that would require background checks for all gun purchases online and at gun shows, was defeated by the Republicans - the 'culture of life'.
ReplyDeleteFor starters, this is a state rights issue, not something for Central Planning, ala Nazi Germany. Secondly, the Washington Post just ran an article with charts, showing the decline of gun violence , beginning more than 20 years ago. Third, California has the very laws you are talking about, and yet, we still have our mass murders, from time to time. Understand that there are no laws that could prevent the murders in San Bernardino. Take a look at France -- nobody even owns a gun there, yet, the weapons used in the murder of 130 by 8 Islamic terrorist, were purchased in country.
DeleteYou need 4 guns at home to defend yourself from the blacks.
ReplyDeleteIts arguments such your last comment, that find you all losing the gun debate and losing it, big time. You comment implies defending my home against an intruder, no matter what his skin color, is somehow wrong. Nobody agrees with that position, so I will not argue the point.
