Obama claims that the Democrat campaign strategy of separation from his agenda and presidency is not a frustration to him; he "understands." But, of course, this is no more true that "you can keep your doctor" or "not one penny of new taxes." The fact of the matter is this: he is pissed about this campaign strategy. That is why he has busied himself undermining the strategy. That is what he is doing, in this radio interview. Remember that just a week ago, he said this," I am not on the ballot . . . . . . . but make no mistake, my policies are."
The take-away from all this? He has undermined the notion of an "independent Democrat candidacy," and he has done so with intent and purpose. Me? I am glad that he is on our side? Kind of humorous, don't you think?
Just how arrogant are you? To assume you know President Obama's motivation is very nearly obsene. Conservatives love character assassination, although they spend an inordinate amount of time obsessing about that same morally defunct action. All that Obama is saying is that he understands what fellow Democrats have to do to stay in power, that he supports that effort and that he appreciates the fact that when it is all over, these same Democrats love and support his agenda for this wonderful and evolving nation. Like one of your opponent loves to remind you, Mr Smithson, that you are an antique and soon we all will be rid of the likes of your breed. Good riddens.
ReplyDeleteDo you have any idea why some Democrats are running from Obama? Because of his unpopularity among the voting population, Left and Right. The right for obvious reasons; the Left because he has succeeded failing their agenda and has made it clear that the last six years have been all about him, not the Progressive politic. As a result, "they," the Dems, are not showing up at the polls, this November, or so we are told.
DeleteObama has had a "take no prisoner" stance against "unfaithful" reporters and whitleblowers from within his Administration. So, you think he suddenly is "fine" with those Democrat candidates who have publicly abandoned him? Geeeeesh.
Dems have never turned out for midterms. Older voters generally do. You think there has been obstruction these past 6 yrs ... wait til what you see in the next 2 when the GOP takes the Senate. They will set up a return to power for the Democrats that will likely last the remainder of Smithson's life. Look at the way Obama has been treated... they've questioned his birthplace, his religion, created fear among the older whites that he is coming to take what is yours. The racist hate continues daily and with the advent of the new racist tea party, it's even worse.
ReplyDeleteTh bottom line. The GOP are on the wrong side of history. Clearly. They are fighting a losing battle against so many issues and segments of the population.... they are against world unity, education, equal voting rights, women, the youth, minorities, gays, legal pot, and all those that 'don't look and pray like they do.' Let's hope Smithson lives long enough to see this. Its only a matter of time. His hate and desperation is clearly evidence that he can 'see the writing on the wall.' Progressives move forward, conservatives regress - it's by definition. You can't stop progress.
Really. You want me to edit your replies? I just did that -- omitting your silly personal attack. Let me give you a tip - on those posts in which we debate or clash, the readership is higher, on average, than on articles that do not have that discussion feature. There are three or four other Lefties that add to this blog, from time to time. Two of them were here, on the blog, today.
ReplyDeleteAt any rate, the "comment" section is open for the purpose of debate. I probably delete more Right wing comments (almost all of them), than Lefties for the same reason - they do not add to the narrative. This is an information blog, not a comment blog. All my postings are confirmed via references. My take on matters, is my take. I begin writing hours before any talk show airs. In fact, I seldom listen to conservative talk, although I think those programs are great, for the most part.
