Mission Statement: This blog reviews the news of the day in light of 242 years of American history. "Nationalism," a modern day pejorative, has been our country's politic throughout history, until 2008. Obama changed that narrative. Trump is seeking a return to our historical roots. Midknight Review supports this return to normality.
Election Update: the only things we know for certain are these: The GOP will keep and expand control of the House; The GOP will increase its numbers in the Senate. Obama's agenda for fundamental transformation died in July of 2010 and remains dead, today. (no article, just this reminder of Patriotic America's triumph over Marxist inspired Utopia).

Obama has made huge gains regarding global warming. He is about to solve the immigration problem. He has extended social graces to the dreamers, reduced expenses for the college population, secured universal healthcare for all Americans, reduced the national debt and acted to balance the wage difference between men and women. Sounds impressive to me.
ReplyDeleteComplicated. You are aware that he has made no gains on the world's stage, failing miserably in Geneva early in his presidency. More than this, there is no research whatsoever indicating any positive results for whatever regulations the EPA has forced on the population. In fact, just the opposite. He has ruined the coal industry without any via substitutes to that lose. He has destroyed the lives of countless thousands living in coal country, and has done so with so much "as a tear." His "dream act" was anecdotal to the problem of immigration, as is the pending issuance of work permits. The media talks about 11 million permits. I personally doubt that two or three million will take advantage of this Obama idea. Why? Because he has fixed nothing. And they - the illegals - do not trust the Government for many of the same reasons the rest of us have reserve. As to the college problem, maybe you have not talked to our college-aged youth. The only youth who really benefit from his theory, are those who plan to enter government employment. His plan of financial aid is only a scheme to grow government and the power of those in government . . . . . period. Most college youth have no plans of working for Central Planning. As to healthcare, there remains 43 million Americans uninsured. Not sure why you think this record sounds "impressive." To each his own, I guess.
