
LONDON — Bob Anderson, the former Olympic swordsman responsible for choreographing fight scenes for such films as "The Empire Strikes Back," "Return of the Jedi." and "Lord of the Rings" series, has died at age 89.
The British Academy of Fencing reported, Monday, that Anderson died early New Year's Day at an English hospital. He was the man in the Darth Vader costume; the noteworthy black actor with one of the great voices in acting history, served up Darth Vader's voice.
A actor named David Prowse played the role of Vader; Anderson helped in the staging of the various sword fight scenes.
