Update to the Pelosi corruption story . . . . . .

There she is, the 71 year old ex-Speaker of the House; the demogod [a phonetic play on words] from hell, denying that she did anything wrong.

Turns out that cBS news is or was investigating the Speaker for insider trading. In 2008, she and her husband, bought into an IPO offered by Visa. All and all, the two ultra millionaires made three stock purchases in Visa. That same year, heck, that same month, a Visa killing bill was presented in the House, one that would limit what Visa could charge. Pelosi refused to schedule the bill for a vote. It just died, right there on her desk. Did the news of Pelosi's "cooperation" send the stock higher in value, giving Pelosi a sizable profit? We don't know. cBS claims that Pelosi spent several million in the three buys. Profits could have been substantial.

I am thinking she should retire until this mess is ferreted out. After all, it is not the reality, but the seriousness of the charge -- to quote Democrat operatives back in the Bush days.

Update: 11/14/11 cBS now tells us that the stock was priced at $44 per share before the Pelosi decision to kill the bill; that Pelosi and her husband bought 5,000 at that price; that after the bill was killed , the stock selling price quickly rose to $64 per share.

A "60 Minutes" expose', also found that John Boehner bought into health care stock in 2009. The difference between the two congress people in comparing the transactions is this: Pelosi actually played the key role in killing the Visa bill, increasing her profits with that very decision; Boehner's stock was purchased into a blind trust and buying decisions were not made by him or with his review. More than this, Boehner voted against the healthcare bill and was consistent in his effort to defeat the bill . . . . something that cBS did not mention in its story.
