So why this headline, and why now? WHITE HOUSE DEBATE DUMP: Romney health-care law was blueprint for Obamacare... First, you should know that the White House, using the cover of a NBC news research project, has dumped a number of significant documents, detailing the Administration's willingness to use parts of RomneyCare for their own purposes.
The reason for the dump is more than obvious, it taints Romney's candidacy.Understand that this administration believes that Romney is their most powerful opponent. They want Romney gone. No better way to do this than to make him a willing partner of Obama.
Why now? Obama's approval numbers are absolutely terrible. But more than this, Obama has not been able to come up with a working strategy that gives him a meaningful bump. What I am saying is this: there is a difference between low approval numbers and concrete negative trends that seem written in stone. He got nothing lasting out the killing of Osama bin Laden. Ditto the killings of the two terroritst leaders, a couple of weeks ago. Nothing. As I write, Independents have reversed themselves in support of this clown in our White House, almost an exact mirror image to the negative from 4 years ago. They supported Obama 56% to 37% in 2008. Today, the number is 54% to 39% against Obama. He cannot win if that number, alone, remains the same.
You might not know this, but every indication is that the Obama people have given up on Independents. Not to the point of no longer trying to win them over, but to the point of planning strategies that counter the loss of the Independent vote. If the Dems can discourage conservatives from going to the polls and voting "for another Obama," they might have a chance of winning the election. I am one of a very few, who believe that 3 to 5 million conservatives refused to vote for Obama or McCain in 2008. They were so disgusted with the compromising John McCain, that they simple sent a message to the GOP, "Go ahead and try winning an election without the conservative vote." And the TEA party was born. T.E.A. is not just about winning an election. Rather, it is about changing the political direction of the GOP, as it rejects Establishment big spending party members, whether Democrat of Republican.
Conservatives have changed the debate, with the 2010 elections. Now, it is time for Obama and his Marxist hordes to be gone. After that, back to the business of taking back the GOP.
Obama has his strategy. The majority of the American people have their strategy.
