Government shutdown is just around the corner thanks to the Democrats

There simply is no good reason for the current "crisis" and the threat of a government shutdown. Understand that the pending shutdown is the result of a monumental and historic failure on the part of the 111th Congress to write a budget for fiscal year 2011. There are 13 appropriation bills dealing with all phases of federal outlays that need to be passed into law each and every year. The work always begins in the House of Representatives, by law, and moves to the Senate for revision and final approval. Typically, this assignment begins in March and is to be finalized by the end of September. The new fiscal year begins on October 1 . Fiscal year 2011 began last last last last October 1, just four weeks before the midterm elections. The Democrats had an over-whelming majority in the House and a 59 to 41 majority in the Senate. They could have passed their version of the budget without any resistance from the Republicans. Instead, the Democrats abdicated their responsibility and in so doing, gave up the opportunity to pass their second budget without revision from the GOP.

In the past three years, discretionary spending has been increased by the Democrat majority by a disgraceful total of 80% . During this same period of time, Obama was bragging about his intention of "cutting the national debt in half." Instead, he and his added 4 trillion, increasing the our total indebtedness by 40%. He has spent more than all other presidents in the history of this nation combined . . . . . and he is not ashamed. About cutting the national debt? Turns out that he was only kidding. Worse, he obviously thinks those who listen to him are stupid. I think that is what bugs me most about this clown in our White House. He thinks we are the stupid ones !! Incredible.

Anyway. There is no one else to blame for the current mess except the Democrats. And they planned for this circumstance !!! It was and is a part of their re-election strategy. Before March of 2010, the Dems, fully in control of congress, decided to cause this crisis and blame the GOP. Understand that I am saying that by the end of 2009, they, the Dems, already knew [from internal polling] that they were in serious election trouble. The decision was made, more than a year ago, to allow the government to run out of money. And now, here we are.

Hats off to the GOP for sticking to their guns and forcing the Dems, on some level, to act like grown-ups. Know this, when all the yelling and screaming is done, we are only talking about .9% [less than one percent] of the current 2011 expense which is 3.8 trillion dollars.

If you think "draconian" is equal to less than a single percentage point of total expenses, well, you are part of the problem, as well.
