We have the Obama Facts for the Economy and the Stimulus.

This is an official chart from recovery.gov . Above the heading, "contracts, grants, loans," we learn that 53% of the total funds allocated have been spent. If you go to the Obama site, you quickly learn that 750,045 people reported hours worked during April - June. These are not "jobs created or saved." These are jobs full and part-time that employed people directly because of the Stimulus . . . nationwide. There has not been more than 850,000 jobs working during any given quarter since the Stimulus was voted into law.

The Recovery Act of 2009 distributes the $787 billion through tax benefits, contracts, grants, loans, and entitlements.

Understand that the fantasy number of 3.5 million jobs "created or saved," may be a compilation of the quarterly totals. For certain, these are not current full-time positions. No one from the Administration can produce a listing of jobs "created or saved." If the list does not exist, how can anyone know if the jobs exists.

Also, if spending has created or saved 3.5 million jobs under Obama, how many jobs were created or saved under the Bush spending?

Point of post: the jobs spending allocations have nearly come and gone. Note that the "tax benefits" monies have already been spent. Their impact on the economy was negligible.

Conclusion: as a stimulus for the economy, measured in terms of full-time jobs and an improving national economy. Our national economy is measured in Gross Domentic Product numbers or GDP. The first quarter of this year, ending with March 31, was a revised 2.7% increase over the previous quarter. The second quarter of 2010, ending June 30, was 1.7% above the first quarter of 2010 or nearly "zero" when the devaluation of the dollar is considered.
