What does the mosque at 51 Park, in New York, have in common with the following?

Understand that Islam is the newest of the world's great religions, coming into being during the 600 AD period.


691 AD -- Islamic Caliph Omar invaded and occupied Jerusalem and immediately erected—al-Aqsa Mosque (Dome of Rock) over the remains of the Jewish Temple Mount of Solomon -- Solomon's Temple. The "Dome of the Rock" is build directly on top of the Temple site. in defiance of the conquered Jews.

711 AD - Muslims from Africa over-ran Spain and ruled the region for 300 years. The Cordoba Mosque and [resulting] city became monuments to the Muslim victory over the Christian region. Corboba, the tribute name for the Park 51 mosque, will be seen by Muslims the world over, as a victory monument to the 9/11 attacks on the Trade Center.

1453 A.D. - Hagia Sophia Mosque - beginning in 1453, the conquering Muslims over ran Istanbul. The Christian cathedral has stood as a monument to Christian orthodoxy for hundred of years until 1453, at which time the Muslims converted this Christian structure and converted it to a Muslim Mosque. All Christian symbols were removed from the structure and destroyed.

late 1900's -- Islam over-ran Afghanistan. In the resulting years before and during the Russian war with Islam in that country, the ruling Muslims destroyed all of the artifacts of the Afghan Buddhist history, blowing up statues carved into hard rock mountains and building dedicated to the Buddhist religion.

Understand that hundreds of Muslim mosques have been built on the ruins of conquered people or established in converted Christian buildings over the centuries.

Is this what is going on in New York? Why on earth would anyone think otherwise ? The Muslim organizers refuse to meet with State officials. They remain unwilling to compromise at any level. They refuse to list the names of those foreign and domestic organizations and partners helping in the Muslim effort. And their sources of funding is being kept a dark dark secret.

Any of this sound remotely reasonable or American or transparent or healing ?
