The Alaskan GOP Primary: Miller/Palin as underdogs leading the other Alaskan woman.

Joe Miller may pull off an upset against the Other Woman in Alaskan politics

Miller holds slim lead in early Senate vote — Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski was battling for her political life against Republican challenger Joe Miller in early primary election returns on Tuesday night. — Miller was leading Murkowski with nearly 52 percent of the vote to her 48 percent . . . .

Editor's notes: its early Wednesday morning and many of us woke to a rather pleasant surprise: Miller leading Murkowski in the GOP Senatorial primary in Alaska. We mentioned this contest yesterday. Sarah Palin took the time and energy to endorse Joe Miller and with that move, gave MSNBC pundits to wonder as to the wisdom of such a move. In their conversations, yesterday, these Marxist reporters could not believe that she would chime in on such a loser as Joe Miller. Well, at least for a while, Miller, with 98% of precincts reporting, leads by 1,500 votes. There remains 12,000 absentee ballots to be counted as well as several thousand votes from our soldiers overseas.

Win or lose, we all know that Palin "still has the old magic."

9.30 am update: Miller's lead has increasedto 1950 votes as reported 10 minutes ago. Veeeeeeeeerrrrrrry interesting.

12.00 pm update: Miller's lead is down to less than 1,000 with a little over 700 absentee ballots to be counted, according to one news source.

4.00 pm update -- Miller is ahead per Fox News by a little less than 2,000 votes with 17,000 absentee votes to be counted next Tuesday.
