Editor's notes: the Dutch government has two ships docked up the Atlantic coast line, ships equipped to collect oil sludge -- 20,000 tons a day. Instead, Obama said "no." Why? Why are these ships still sitting idol ? Midknight Review has a theory. We are sitting on 54 days since this crisis began and Obama has done nothing to actually prevent the "oil surge" from reaching the Gulf coast -- he has failed to act "on purpose." It is painfully obvious to this editor that Obama wants this disaster. He can use it to push his Big Government agenda. Tomorrow night, Tuesday the 15th, expect Obama to push his agenda, to issue demands and to mention, in passng, that he has been on the Gulf scene since "day one."

Please note: if he has been on the job since day one of this crisis, if all BP decisions are approved by his Administration, why is he not responsible for all that is not going on in the Gulf ? Just askin' -- jds.

Houston Chronicle: Three days after the explosion of the Deepwater Horizon in the Gulf of Mexico, the Dutch government offered to help.
It was willing to provide ships outfitted with oil-skimming booms, and it proposed a plan for building sand barriers to protect sensitive marshlands.
The response from the Obama administration and BP, which are coordinating the cleanup: “The embassy got a nice letter from the administration that said, ‘Thanks, but no thanks,'” said Geert Visser, consul general for the Netherlands in Houston.
Now, almost seven weeks later, as the oil spewing from the battered well spreads across the Gulf and soils pristine beaches and coastline, BP and our government have reconsidered.
U.S. ships are being outfitted this week with four pairs of the skimming booms airlifted from the Netherlands and should be deployed within days. Each pair can process 5 million gallons of water a day, removing 20,000 tons of oil and sludge.
