Enough on the "Third Party" fantasy.

Your friendly editor and his two old daughters (25 and 42)

All of the following, in terms of categories, comes out of Wikipedia. Understand that Wikipedia is left leaning but not radically left. Generally, it is a good reference source.

As you can see, there are a number of "third parties." The idea is hardly novel and its time has come and gone. A nationally oriented "Tea Party" would serve no ideological purpose at all, and while all you out there in Lala land resist "ideology," it is the Marxist ideology that currently threatens the stability of this great nation.

What do ALL of the following have in common? None of them have impact as a party except the Socialist Party with their lone Senator, Bernie Sanders and the Libertarians - with a fairly large base (nothing that rivals the two major parties, as of yet). If Glenn Beck is anything, he is a Libertarian. John Stossel is Libertarian. If we want to talk "third party," the Libertarian Party is just that.

Let's not go there. If we want Immediate change, taking back the GOP is our only option, period. Out with the older RINO leadership, namedly John McCain, Collins, Luger, and so on. We need fresh faces and new leadership. Newt -- bye bye. No more Mitt Romney - his health care program in Massachusetts is a mess. Let's not forget that it was in '08 that McCain and Huckabee teamed up to push Romney aside. Jebb Bush ?? The GOP needs to move out of the Bushes and into the light of new leaders and there is plenty of that around.

Back to the point of this post: forget about third party creation. We already have a couple dozen of them. One more WILL NOT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE AT ALL and only fracture the conservative base more. Stop already !! jds
