David Brooks / New York Times:
What a Failed Trump Administration Looks Like — I still have trouble seeing how the Trump administration survives a full term.
Notes: David Brooks bills himself a "conservative." Why? I really don't know. More than this, there is the mystery surrounding what it means when the Dems and David Brooks talk about the "failure of the Trump Presidency."
No one who comes to this blog can explain this to me, either. It is a mystery.
Let's talk about real failure without going back into the Obama failed presidency, shall we? For the sake of this post, I will only review the failures of the Dems in shutting down the cabinet appointments of President Trump.
They went after Jess Sessions (for A.G.) and lost 52-47. You say, "Of course they lost. They are outnumbered." Yes, but that REALITY has not prevented these clowns from trying. They are hoping to convince a few Republicans, and, in that effort, actually shut down Trump from EVER having his cabinet. THAT is their agenda.
They went after Steve Mnuchin (Treasury) and lost 53-47.
They went after Rex Tellerson (Sec. of State) and lost 56-45.
They went after Betsy DeVos (Education) and lost 51-50.
They went after Tom Price (HHS) and lost 52-47.
They went after Scott Pruitt (EPA) and lost 52-46.
They went after Mick Mulvaney (OMB Director) but they lost 51-49.
James Kelly (Homeland Security), Elain Chao (transportaion), David Shulkin (VA), Nikki Haley (UN Ambassador), Mike Pompeo (CIA), and Linda McMahan (Small Business Administration) all won their appoints in landslide fashion.
While Trump has been busy winning for America, over the past four weeks, the Dems have had to face one failure after another, several of which were monumental. Look, they could not afford to lose the EPA to Pruitt, but they did. They could not afford to lose the DofEd but they did. Tom Price is a monster selection they needed to defeat (Health and Human Services).
