I am not a Catholic. I disagree with the notion that piety is a path into the next life, and have no regard for "ex cathedra." My salvation is based on the activity and authority of God in Christ, not the church, and all "saving graces" come from Him . . . . . as I understand the biblical message.
One of our daughters is a converted Catholic, She and all her "in-laws" are among the best folks I have ever met.
Point of post: Just giving you an explanation as to why I do not consider this a "big news day."
