Today and Friday (Jan 16) , House and Senate Republicans are conducting one of the most important meetings of the mind, in their history.

[Jan 14, 2015] GET SMART FAST -- Joint House-Senate GOP retreat tomorrow and Friday in Hershey, Pa. - Jake Sherman and Burgess Everett: The "retreat in the Sweetest Place on Earth is ... meant to dampen expectations about what will happen in Republican Washington ... Both chambers' leaderships ... want to provide lawmakers with a 'reality-based outlook' on what McConnell can get through the Senate." http://politi.co/1xZ30yF

Editor's notes:  If true conservatives  (some call them "Right Wingers"),  cannot succeed on a scale they desire,  they certainly can exercise some control over the primary process in presidential election years and electorial control in "midterm" season,  to insure that the Grand Old Party,  remains wedded to an allegiance  to the Constintution,  something that has been totally lost on the current Utopian leadership of the Democrat Party.

Establishment or not,  there is a difference between the two parties,  and it relates to personal freedoms and Constitutional law,  two ideological considerations that are not mutually shared.

Democrats no longer see the point of a Constitution except to use it as they seek to change this nations traditions to something more European in nature and scope.  Mainline Democrats and most,  if not all,  of the GOP leadership do not share in that agenda.

It is my hope that Republicans can come to an agreement as to what they will be doing with and to the extremists in the Democrat leadership.  It is time for those people to take a hike.  They clearly do not believe that "elections have consequences," nor are they the least bit concerned with a governance of and for the people.  Virtually everything they have been about,  over the past six years,  has met with the disapproval of the people of this country,  yet,  they continue to pretend that they speak for those people.

We Right Wingers are not going to get everything we want,  but,  speaking for myself,  we need to fight for what we see as critical while accepting what we cannot change,  at this time.  Leaving the GOP  (I am an Independent) as the path to the continuance of patriotic values,  would spell the death of everything we hold near and dear.

Let's hope "they" get their act together.  Nothing would be more rewarding but to learn that this meeting brought the various factions within the GOP into some sort of viable alliance.  We will wait for the good news on that score   . . . .   finbgers crossed.

  1. After six years of gridlock, guess the Grand Old Pukes ran out of ideas on how to continue. Thank "gawk" Obama has enough sense to to use the powers he has, legally, to get things done. More Taliban leaders killed than Bush; a record high stock market; fastest drop in unemployment in history, an economy that moving faster than at anytime in the past 15 years -- what's not to like, but you will find something, even if you have to make it up.

    1. Back from dinner.

So, gridlock was caused by a GOP that had no political power whatsoever for two stinking years (2009 - 2010)? Do you even know how to spell "super majorities," because that is what the Democrats had, in both Houses of Congress during that time. Obama killed 40 to 60 Taliban in the same period of time Bush killed 43,000 in Iraq (5 years for Bush v 6 years and running for Hussein O.). My guess is there were hundreds of al Qaeda leaders in that 43,000 number . . . . and my numbers come from the Iraqi government, btw. Bush averaged 4.5% unemployment with 9 million more people working than Obama and the present time workforce, the smallest workforce in 34 years. The final numbers for the economy in 2014, came out last week, and the DOL told us the economy grew at 2.4% for the year. BFD. And, if you don't know why the Market is booming (is it still booming?), then you are simply a stooge for the Progressive Utopians, sent to this site to push forward their talking point. I will not print more of this drivel, so be advised. You want to make a statement, no problem, But I will not allow this blog to become an outpost for a Party that wants to destroy the values of nation that was made great, because of those values. Get a clue or get lost.

  2. Oh, and if you print my comment, just know that this is the 12th post from me and the first you will post (?). So much for freedom of speech and how you all are different from us "utopians." You're a joke.

  3. Right in the middle of my evening routine, which does not include you and these silly comments. I have rules. You do not get to come onto this blog and go with some sort of filthy 3rd grade nonsense. It is amazing to me just how much stock you Progressives place on talking trash . . . as if you have a winning debate strategy. Maybe you should double check the last election cycle to see just how ineffective you all have been. But what do I care. You all are damaging your own cause. I will comment on that first comment, above, later.
