They needed 29 to force a second ballot. They got 25 - strongest opposition to a sitting GOP Speaker in nearly 100 years.

We dare not carry grudges.  Having said that,  understand that the Conservative Nation nearly pulled off a stunning upset, yesterday.   Before the Establishment starts to celebrate,  understand the following 25 GOP names comprise the largest anti-speaker minority in 100 years.  And,  to think,  "they" said the conservative/teaparty influence was dead.

I get as discouraged as anyone,  but the size of this protest vote was most rewarding.  Here are the names of our resident dissident community.     Maybe next time,  your Representative will counted as a mainstream conservative.  My rep was not on this list.

  1. Rep. Justin Amash, Mich.
  2. Rep. Rod Blum, Iowa
  3. Rep. Dave Brat, Va.
  4. Rep. Jim Bridenstine, Okla.
  5. Rep. Curt Clawson, Fla.
  6. Rep. Scott DesJarlais, Tenn.
  7. Rep. Jeff Duncan, S.C.
  8. Rep. Scott Garrett, N.J.
  9. Rep. Chris Gibson, N.Y.
  10. Rep. Louie Gohmert, Texas
  11. Rep. Paul Gosar, Ariz.
  12. Rep. Tim Huelskamp, Kan.
  13. Rep. Walter Jones, N.C.
  14. Rep. Steve King, Iowa
  15. Rep. Thomas Massie, Ky.
  16. Rep. Mark Meadows, N.C.
  17. Rep. Rich Nugent, Fla.
  18. Rep. Gary Palmer, Ala.
  19. Rep. Bill Posey, Fla.
  20. Rep. Scott Rigell, Va.

  1. I find it hilarious that you would see victory in a losing effort. But when you can't seem to win a presidential election, I guess that is what you right wingers must do.

    1. A comment (above) coming from a member of a party that has seen the worst two election cycles in 100 years, and a president that took in 4.5 million fewer votes than in his initial election (2008). He lost votes in contrast to the Bush's re-election effort in which GW saw an increase of 12 million votes (2004), over his first election totals. Me? I think THAT is hilarious. The only polls that count, are the election totals, and we all know how that has gone, whether Dems want to admit it or not.

    3. You do know that since and including Nixon, the GOP has held the High Office 28 years to 20 (assuming Obama does not quit before 2016 . . . . I mean, he has quit on so many other commitments). In 2009, you all were touting the death of conservatism and the end of the GOP.

I love you libs. You're so freaking easy.

  2. The proven coward deleted my comment again. It's what he does when confronted with inconvenient facts.
This blog ...not worth your time, as entertainingly ignorant and hateful as it is.

    1. Talking about that comment in which you went off on one of your 3rd grade rants . . complete with name calling and your arrogant put downs? Is that the one? Get a life or get lost, punk.

    3. I usually delete "forever," which means the reader never sees the number of posts I reject. The above was a childish display of rhetorical slop, by a member of the so-called educated community who has yet to learn how to debate without getting personal. He is pissed that his side, after declaring the death of the conservative nation, is watching the destruction of decades of Progressive influence. And when he realizes he cannot win, in debate, he does what many 3rd grade liberals do, he gets angry and threatens violence. Sorry, a tough guy who wears short shorts most of the day, is not my version of tough. It is probably a good thing that he can run faster than this old man. Heck. I am old enough to be his dad. Maybe that is what he really needs. Whatever.

    4. The republican mission of voter suppression has been vindicated. It took an election with the worst turnout in 70+ years to produce a GOP victory.

Clearly, not representative of America by any clear thinking person.

I don't know why you fear this guy, but your need to insult him reflects more on you.

    5. Talking points, talking points, talking points. You never think critically when dealing with politics, do you. You forget that the pre-election polls told us that enthusiasm was down for the Democrats. GOP voters came out, not your side. There was no voter suppression. And no Leftist pundit claims there was. You lost because Obama's policies have done nothing for the folks in his party. . . . nothing for blacks - they are poorer that ever before and more jobless than any other constituency; no funding relief for college aged voters . . . . nothing for Hispanics that is real - they know all these incoming illegals will only take jobs away from them.

    7. Keep in mind that those who were denied the vote back in 1965 were denied the vote by Democrat majorities in each of the states mentioned by Lewis. The KKK was a Democrat club with no Republican membership. In fact, all of the offenses named by Lewis were created and enforced by Southern DEMOCRATS. It was the Democrat Party that constituted the Rebel South. More Republicans , percentage wise, voted for the LBJ civil rights bill in the mid-60's than did the Democrats and the Democrats, voted down that same act, back in the 50's when Eisenhower proposed the amendment. In fact, ALL of the voting related Jim Crow laws were written by Democrat majorities. Sen Broun simply saw no purpose in funding early voting (which is often used by the Dems, today, to stuff district ballot boxes). So, stop with your stinking lies and get with the truth. Voter ID and getting out of bed to vote, are not restrictions to the voting public . . . . just to those who are too stoned or too lazy to get out of bed.
