A requisite to dictatorial assumption, is the prohibition against private gun ownership. All dictators outlaw private ownership in the name of making society "safe," and then, soon or later, a Stalin or Mao comes along.

1. In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915-1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves against their ethnic-cleansing government, were arrested and exterminated.
2. In 1929, the former Soviet Union established gun control as a means of controlling the “more difficult” of their citizens. From 1929 to the death of Stalin, 40 million Soviets met an untimely end at the hand of various governmental agencies as they were arrested and exterminated.
3. After the rise of the Nazi’s, Germany established their version of gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, 13 million Jews, gypsies, homosexuals, the mentally ill, and others, who were unable to defend themselves against the “Brown Shirts”, were arrested and exterminated. Interestingly, the Brown Shirts were eventually targeted for extermination themselves following their blind acts of allegiance to Hitler. Any American military and police would be wise to grasp the historical significance of the Brown Shirts’ fate.
4. After Communist China established gun control in 1935, an estimated 50 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves against their fascist leaders, were arrested and exterminated.
5. Closer to home, Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayans, unable to defend themselves against their ruthless dictatorship, were arrested and exterminated.
6. Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves from their dictatorial government, were arrested and exterminated.
7. Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million of the “educated” people, unable to defend themselves against their fascist government, were arrested and exterminated.
8. In 1994, Rwanda disarmed the Tutsi people and being unable to defend themselves from their totalitarian government, nearly one million were summarily executed.
Understand that when a society severely limits gun ownership,  or bans their possession outright,  that society is "free" as long as its leadership is not totalitarian in its use of political power.  That,  of course,  does not guarantee freedom.  Our President (not just Obama) has more power than any other branch of government.  The notion of "equal but separate" when referencing the federal government,  has not be true for decades.  Today,  using Obama as the example,  we have an office holder who is above the law.  Issue the president a subpoena and when or if he refuses,  there is absolutely nothing anyone can do about that circumstance.  Give him executive power to write orders and enforce his memos, and you have given him legislative powers that cannot be resisted. Expand his ability to declare marshal law,  and,  in due time,  a president will use that reality to remain in power.   Allow a president the power of a "signing statement,"  and you have a man who can sign a law into existence,  while,  at the same time,  declaring what he will and will not enforce,  and it is all legal.  So,  to pretend that the Executive Office is equal to Congress or our court system,  is just plain uninformed bordering on being silly.
Sadly,  the Presidency of the United States already has all the power and legal authority necessary for a President to function as a dictator,  and that is exactly what you see happening with Hussein Obama.  Fortunately,  for this country at this time,  this president is not very intelligent when it comes to innovation and profundities (in other words,  he is kind of stupid)  and has managed to turn a once adoring public against his brand of totalitarianism.  Oh,  folks still like him,  but his average job approval numbers for all of 2014, constitute the lowest annual average for any president in modern times.
He is thin skinned to a fault,  unimaginative in terms of new and practical ideas,  dictatorial,  a master of personal and legal manipulation,  and as phony as a baby kissing Hitler.   Again,  thank gawd.  If Obama had been able to maintain the degree of approval he had when coming into office,  he would be far more a threat to this nation than he is.  And,  aren't we all sick and tired of Michelle's irrelevance?  ( I could ask the same question of Joe Biden or John Kerry or Hillary ).

  1. I think we are very fortunate that Obama is not a man who is as gifted a politician as his press wants us all to believe. He has lost his youthful volunteer army for campaign purposes. At one time, I believe he had offices and volunteers in all 50 states. Today, that "army" is more along the lines of what the Dems had before Obama. Any way, your point is well taken. So many of us are frustrated with this man, even deeply disappointed. I voted for him in 2008, hoping he would bring both parties together. I voted against him in 2012 because I realized that he was doing just the opposite. Very very disappointed.
