The Vice Chairman of the Democrat party is 62. The party's Leader, Steny Hoyer, and, party Whip, James Clyburn are both over 70 years old. Party Goddess, Nancy Pelosi, is 74. One of the great takeaways from the last several years and the implosion of the Democrat Socialist Party, is the realization that, in all likelihood, she would be 78, maybe 80 years old, before she would be called "Speaker," once again.
She has
been very successful in neutralizing the moderate and younger voices in her
party, and in that process, has become one of the GOP’s better recruitment
tools. Outside of party leadership, no one likes the woman. While being hard core is a leadership
requirement in political circles, or so
it seems, Pelosi is more than “hard
core.” She is vindictive to a fault, perfectly willing to push a populace
legislative strategy that is actually based in complicated lies and plausible
deniability.
Fortunately, she is in the House and has no ultimate
power, a victim of her own creation and
unpopularity. With 243 GOP
Representatives, the House has the
potential to get things done. The only
thing standing in the way, for the
GOP, is the divide between the
Conservative Right, and the Conservative
Establishment.
Compromise
between the two factions must be the order of the day, for the next two years. If that does not happen, those responsible should be marked and
defeated in the next election cycle.
Understand that I am not talking about compromise with the Socialist
Democrats. But, “standing on principle,” which sounds good, even “Christian,” we are talking about politics. The only issue that involves a clear cut
sense of morality, is abortion and the
killing of the unborn and viable fetus.
Constitutional
issues, such as free speech or gun
ownership, are not moral issues. Of course,
that does not mean they are less important. But, as
senseless as gun registration is, compromise
on that point need not be considered in the same breath as the killing of the
viable unborn.
I live in
the very liberal “paradise” of California . While gun laws abound, here,
the fact of the matter is this: I
own a semi-automatic rifle, two shotguns
and a 9 mm handgun and a boat load of ammo
(especially 9mm), all purchased
after Obama, all of it legal.
Understand, that the mere size of the gun-owning
population, makes repressive gun
regulations most difficult to enforce.
Those of us in the know, in this
state, are aware that rifles and shotgun
registration is filed with the state and destroyed, within a year, by the state
. . . . . literally, too much paperwork.
At any
rate, my point is simply this: the Radical Liberal community, in our country, is at the end of their time. They will resurrect, of course,
but we may be looking at a 20 period in which Conservatives will have
the time and power to mend the fences and repair the damage being done to our
once great nation.
As things
stand at this moment in time, however, the Dems are on a down turn that began with
the first months of the Obama Administration. The strangle hold of an aging class of leaders
combined with a policy of lies and cover-ups,
insures the continuation of this
down ward trend. Good for them.
What might get missed in your commentary, is the fact that "youth attracts youth." Assuming that to be true, if the old guard dems insist on full control of the party, and the GOP continues to receive the 40 to 55 year old leader, it will be only a short time before the nation will be looking to a young and dynamic GOP.
ReplyDeleteGreat comment ! This change to the Grand Old Party is the biggest untold story of the decade.
