Conservatives need to take a breath. "Tonight Obama fundamentally changes American !!" Nonsense. He has done nothing to permanently change this nation. Why do we think this nothing-burger order will, suddenly, be his first effective idea? It is not and here is why:

<<<  Pardon the vulgarity but the woman speaks the truth and this includes what he is about to do tonight  . . . .   Obama is not exactly a tactical genius when it comes to stacking issues against the opposition.

This is not as bad as it seems,  if our leadership does not go postal,  and here is why:

For starters,  apparently the major networks (ABC, NBC, cBS) will NOT televise the 10 minute announcement.

Univision is televising a Hispanic awards presentation which will attack between 8 and 11 million viewers and Univision put a hold on the awards ceremony to air his announcement.

His executive order will not include subsidies for ObamaCare,  nor will it hand out "green cards."

It will allow for temporary work permits, however.  What is the difference,  you ask?  The answer may surprise you,  but - per my country supervisor wife - the Green Card issuance includes a path to citizenship.  The fact that Obama is not handing out Green Cards,  per se,  denies the prospective benefactors,  citizenship pathways.  Many do not believe the larger "illegal" population will "flock to the spin meister's scheme."  By way of reminder:  they already have de facto amnesty as Obama will define it in his executive order.

While he is limiting deportations,  and giving out temporary work permits,  he really is changing nothing for those who are already here,  illegally.  Again,  they are already working;  they are already here and [already] not being deported.

The more important question,  then,  is this:  why in the world is he doing this,  60 days before the new congress takes office  -  after he sat on his hands for six years,  and refused to act during the two years he had no GOP opposition whatsoever (2009 -2010)?

I believe  he is hoping that the coming deadline for federal funding,  December 11,  will give the GOP opportunity to tie their opposition to this executive nothing-burger order, to a spending bill,  and give him another opportunity to cut funding to popular/necessary federal programs while blaming it on the GOP.  He thinks this strategy worked before with the Sequester (his idea, btw),  and he is hoping this strategy will work again.

Obama does not give a crap about the alien Hispanic community in this country,  or he would work with congress to actually change and improve the system.  Heck,  he would have solved the problem in 2009-2010 when he had NO OPPOSITION,  but he didn't even try. His executive order does nothing for this population and insures that "gridlock" will continue.

Understand this:  implementation of this scheme will take months to manifest itself.  It took a little more than two months for the Dream Act to be put into effect and that benefited 800,000 people.  We are talking millions,  in this case.  The takeaway as relates to the implementation is this"  "we" have time to respond.

Some on our side of this issue need to get this into their thick heads   >>>  we will have much more political power to deal with this question,  come January 20 and the beginning of the 114th Congress.  Let's not forget that we are "lame duck," also.

You should know that "discretionary privilege"  is Obama's excuse for limiting the enforcement (or not) of existing law.  Two issues are at stake, here.   One is a legal concern and the other is purely political.

He can choose to limit deportations,   but,  he cannot summarily protect an entire population from the effects of the law.  That seems to be a rewriting of existing or law,  going well beyond "discretionary privilege."   I believe that lawsuits should be immediately prepared and submitted to the courts.  Understand that if the courts rule in our favor,  the politics of this matter will take care of themselves.

Secondly,  Obama is in "violation" of his own statements as to limiting deportations,  and that is the political side of this issue.   He is on record (video) actually telling folks, as recently as December of 2013,  that he does not have legal authority for a wholescale  dismantling of the deportion law.  More than this,  only 36% of Americans agree with what he is about to do  -  and they  (the American voter) have already rewarded Obama for his feckless and rebellious political scheming.  For Obama, this is more about defeating the GOP and driving that party from the political stage.  To date,  his schemes have effected nothing negative for the GOP.  Instead,  it is the Democrat Party that has suffered,  and suffered on a historical scale.

"We" have several months to plan and implement a strategical response that keeps the GOP in the mix,  politically,  and principled in as the party of Conservative (patriotic) values.    Let's not start frothing at the mouth and falling into the maniacal hands of this professional schemer.  Understand this:  he was/is the cause for the landslide elections of 2010 and 2014.  Single handedly,  he has put the Democrat Party in weakest position since 1921 and the end of the Woodrow Wilson era  (error).

Patience and a measured response are the order of the day.

Caveat to all of the above:
Will Central America see this announcement as the "God send" it is not?  We really don't know.  If those people misunderstand,  and assume that this is all about citizenship related amnesty,  then there will be a flood of folks,  once again,  to cross our borders.  And,  if that happens,  the Dems will take it in their backside,  again.
