The Law
The exchanges are only open to American citizens and documented immigrants. To verify an applicant's citizenship and immigration status, an exchange must first verify a customer's identity with the Social Security Administration, and then check her immigration status with the Department of Homeland Security.Of course, the WaPost editors are only stating the facts of the law; the reality in the lawless application of ObamaCare is quite different.
The Reality
Beside the fact that California is going to enroll illegals into its Medicaid exchanges and will do so without fear of reprisals, we find Obama, himself, telling illegals this past week, that the information received by ObamaCare will not be used for deportation purposes. Why this caution from Obama? The answer: Obviously . . . . . . obviously, the exclusion of illegals was never the intent of this Administration. They were always going to be included, thus Obama's words of encouragement.
The problem with this reality, is the fact that, ObamaCare cannot function as a "zero sum game," with an uncounted and increasing population of "illegals." But, neither the exclusion of the immigrant/pre-citizen population nor self sustaining program were the goals of this Administration.
ObamaCare has always been about the advancement of a borderless society that took from those who worked (not just "from the rich") and gave to those who did not or could not.
