Birth of the Modern Utopian Congressional Era
The Democrats took over both houses of congress beginning with January 20, 2007 . . .
both houses. Bush's approval numbers were at record lows; the American people were tired of the four year Iraqi war, and the Progressive/One World Media had been successful in turning public opinion against our 43rd president. Nancy Pelosi was the minority leader in the House. After the elections in November of 2006, and the Democrat victories in the Senate and House she was voted majority leader and became the first female House Speaker, in American history.
At the same time. (D) Harry Reid, became the new majority leader in the Senate, and began a reign of dominance in that congressional body that has had no equal in American history.
Democrat complicity in the 2008 financial collapse
Obama was a rising star and freshman Senator, at the time. With the 2006 midterm elections, the Democrats took control of the
banking and finance oversight committees in both the Senate and the House . . .
BOTH houses.
As a side note but a part of this history, we need to understand that the financial collapse of 2008, occurred during the oversight years of the Democrat Party. The two Democrat banking chairs, Christopher Dodd in the Senate and Barnie Frank in the
House, each telling the nation there was no need for concern, that our financial future was secure, as they rejected Bush's efforts to reel in
the out-of-control Affordable Housing Program.
As national concerns were increasing, Bush's efforts to move the nation away from the financial brink were demonized by congressional Democrats, the President being condemned as "heartless" and a "hater of the poor." In fact, Frank reassured the nation, just 6 weeks before the bottom fell out, that the financial world was, "fundamentally,' in good shape.
Again, the financial collapse, 4th quarter of 2008, took place under the supervision of a Democrat congress which refused to admit to the danger signs being talked about by Bush and his advisers.

Strategy for winning the 2008 elections
With the 2008 financial collapse, the Democrats realized that their time for serious gains, in congress, was knocking at the door. In spite of the fact that the Dems held congressional control of the banking committee for two years, prior to the collapse, they were able to shift the blame onto Bush, and the 2008 elections became the single most profoundly one-sided, national election cycle of all time.
2009 Stimulus' Unstated Purpose
Look what the know-nothing Utopians did with the economy after they got the
reins. Their first order of business was the 2009
"stimulus," a billion dollar "emergency jobs bill," written by the Dems before Obama took office; none of which went
to a substantive, systemic, solution to our problems. In fact,
3/4 of all that money went to either interest on that debt or Democrat
constituencies, whether unions or
Democrat controlled congressional districts.
That "stimulus" was sold to the American people as a jobs
bill, so vital to the US economy that we
did not have time for congressional debate or even a reading of the bill. That explanation was a lie, a malicious and intended lie, crafted to deceive, to cover over the real reason for the bill's extravagance, and that reason, in a word, was "payback." Embedded in this bill was more than a million dollars, a set aside, for the coming healthcare reformation. Besides this set-aside, the "stimulus" was nothing more
than payback for Obama's supporters,
period. Proof of this claim, is the fact that the bill failed in its announced goals, and failed miserably.
Months and years after this "emergency"
bill was passed into law on February 17, 2009 (only 29 days after Obama
took office), we have nothing to show for
it. The unemployment rate increased from 7.8% to 10% by October of 2009, with no spending increases representing repairs, to infrastructure because of the stimulus supplied funding. In fact, to this day, there is no verifiable accounting for the monies collected and spent. On top of this and years after the fact, 11 million Americans have given up on working and have quit the workforce - a 36 year record low.
What could have been but was not
We should never, ever, forget that the 2008 Progressive/Utopian Democrats had grabbed power away from the traditional Democrat majority, represented by Hillary Clinton. As a result of McCain's compromised and nonsensical 2008 campaign, the childish claims of an inexperienced Barack Hussein Obama, won the day, and the Utopians OWNED congress for the next two
years.
They could have made whatever fixes
they wanted to the economy. The world was theirs. They had placed the first borderless, Utopian/Progressive socialist, into the presidency, and held super majorities that could not be resisted, by the opposition.
These Utopians could
have passed comprehensive immigration, given 12 million illegal aliens full and complete amnesty; passed cap and trade (an idiotic scheme, in the name of "climate change" devised to redistribute wealth), forced the Fairness Doctrine through congress (an assault on free conservative speech), accomplished full nuclear disarmament, finalized regressive gun/ownership control, made changes to international relations and treatises that could, then, be used to supersede our Constitution as the sovereign law of our nation, moved to end individual property rights, destroyed what was left of states rights and the implications of a robust 14th Amendment; they could have given the unions their "card check" strategies (another scheme, this time for the purpose of union control of industry without a secret ballot), and quantified a thorough-going regulatory takeover of the private sector business community; the Republicans could not have
stopped a single piece of legislation.
When one stops to think about, the conservative Right, soundly defeated the Progressive agenda and its fundamental transformation of the United States. Again, return and review the list of "what could have been, but was not." We do not give ourselves enough credit - and it is the "radical Right" that is largely responsible for this victory. Whatever Obama does with executive orders and via regulation, is temporary. There is no permanency to his solutions, as things stand now. If the Right keeps the House and nothing more, in the coming elections, Obama's one world ambitions for this once great nation, will be over.
Perhaps the victory is ALREADY ours
Look at all that did not "get done." A remarkable list of feckless dreams and failed legislative effort. Scott Brown's victory and its true implications
(The beginning of the end for Utopian Progressivism)
In spite of their rather comprehensive agenda, they got nothing done during this two year period, and had to pass ObamaCare without the necessary changes they had planned, because of the shocking election result in December of 2009, giving Republican, Scott Brown, Ted Kennedy's seat after that Senator passed away. The Senate seat held by Kennedy, was in Democrat hands for 53 years. With Brown's victory, the Democrats' one party rule came to an abrupt and unforeseen end; their Super Majority
Rule was gone and they have been in decline, since that victory.
Of course, the Dems held a 59 vote majority after the Brown victory. They still held enormous congressional power, but the Scott Brown election was more than a surprise, it was a statement by the American people, that they did not like what they saw, they did not approve of what had happened since the November election in 2008. Brown took office in January of 2010. In November of 2010, the teaparty influence guided the nation to vote against the 2008 victors, in one of the most one sided elections, against the Democrats, in American history. As it turns out, the Scott Brown victory, was a wakeup call to the Progressive Imperialists running the nation, a call for caution they refused.

Two years wasted; one of the most profound political
failures in American history. . . . . a chance to change the world for the Progressive
Socialist Movement ------- gone.
The other team could not play and they still lost the game !!
As it turned out, the Obamacrats in congress, were so inept, they could not get "it" done in spite of the
fact that they had no opposition.
Watching this was like watching two teams playing football; one team sits on the sidelines and the other
plays every minute, only to lose the
game, in the end. What happened, or, more correctly, what did not happen, could be the baseline for a comedy routine on Saturday Night Live. But it happened, or "did not happen," and we conservatives need to be encouraged by the magnitude of this political defeat.
The 2014 Elections, a repeat of 2010 ??
Today, March 8, 2014, the Democrat Party is fractured between its Utopian Wing, and the more traditional big government types. This political party is being judged for its singular legislative "accomplishment," and the coming election is proving to be more of a defeat, than its 2010 "cousin." Of course, political winds change, and certain defeat can to avoided, but, as things stand at this writing, great fear for the coming elections, is everywhere within the Democrat Party.
Such is a brief overview of Modern Day, Progressive History, lead by the know nothing, Barack Obama; a perfect monument to the Devolving Progressive Movement, in this country.

Failures of Progressive Movement?
Answer
The main failure of the progressive movements was committing atrocities against the black Americans. This movement did not address the black American's problem despite the fact that it brought reforms to the government. They had no common goals to solve the societal problems.
