Gays in the GOP and the surprising conclusion of this editor.

In an article in the Daily Caller,  we find a report on the problematic issue of gays within the GOP.  My concern with the gay agenda is fairly nuanced.  I am willing to allow gay marriage and gay political involvement within the GOP,  but I am not amenable to gay lifestyle education in our elementary and secondary schools,  nor am I willing to sign on to the criminalizing of language and speech that offends gays.  We should all be allowed to speak our minds;  our children should not be in a position to have to make a choice because of implicit educational markers.

The bullying of gays in our high schools,  for example,  can be dealt with without having to amend the educational format on sex education.  How we bear children will simply,  never change.  Whether we are talking about a man and woman,  or attempting to expropriate that coupling to fit our own [gay] agenda,  the fact of the matter is this:  human life is the result of the seed of a man and a woman.  The “union” of a man to a man or a woman to a woman,  is for the pleasure of that relationship and the need for companionship in most cases;  having children is only an artificial sidelight to that relationship,  however real the emotions and the parental desires of the gay couple.

Can gay parents be good parents.  Yes,  of course.  Is that what God wants and expects?  I say, “no.”  We should all have the right to express our difference of opinion on this matter.  But for gays to insist that such discussions should not be allowed,  is preposterous and divisive.

Is there a place in the GOP for the Log Cabin Republican?  The larger population,  while not gay,  agrees with much of the gay agenda.    The GOP is a political appendage and, if it is to hold enough power to govern, it must come to a conclusion that allows gays to marry and participate in political commerce.

Understand that I believe that homosexuality is little more than promiscuous  activity.  I must admit,  however,  that the politics of this truth, have left me far behind.  Because this issue is about how people live their lives,  as frustrating as this is for me,  I must concede the position and move on.  While I will never concede the murder of the unborn,  this [gay] is not even remotely similar,  in terms of theory or critical import.
