They can kill us in our homes or on our way to work, without notice and without repercussions to themselves . . . . probably time to take it to the streets.
Sen. Rand Paul just
offered to end his filibuster and allow a vote on CIA nominee John Brennan if
he could get a vote tomorrow on a non-binding resolution regarding drone
killing of US citizens on US soil. But Assistant Majority Leader Dick Durbin
objected to allowing a vote on the resolution. So Paul resumed speaking.
Paul's resolution said it was the sense of the Senate that "the use of drones to execute or target American citizens on American soil who pose no imminent threat clearly violates Constitutional rights" of due process.
Throughout his first six hours, Sen. Paul painted a dire picture of what a President could do with the power to kill by drone non-combatant US citizens who have never been charged or given a chance to defend themselves. Think about how low this country has devolved since the ascension of Obama: we have lost the war in Afghanistan, our military leaders spend a good deal of their playing with themselves while exchanging thousands of emails with female friends - taking time out of battlefield responsibilities to do so; our president deserts anyone doing his bidding, leaving them to die terrible deaths while he pretends to be the American military hero in this country; 8.8 million Americans have quite the workforce; wages are down; there are fewer jobs than when he took office yet he touts a "recovery" in progress; he has decided to not work at all, spending the next two years campaigning to get the House of Representative back under his socialist control. Finally, he thinks it is good that he has the power of life and death, with no checks and balances !!!
I am no longer in love with this country as it now exists. The roaches are in the kitchen and are eating all the manna. I want to quit the fight, but a return to where we have been is our only salvation as a nation, so I can't quit doing what little I do.
