Senator Rand Paul is filibustering the notion of a drone attack on an American non-combatant without a court hearing and on American soil. Is Paul the last Senator with a heart and a brain? Salute to this effort. Turn to C-SPAN

Update:   Rand Paul is concerned that B Obama will not unequivocally deny the possibility of an expanding war on terror within the borders of the United States and using military force to kill Americans on American soil without due process. Obama wants to use the "applicable law of war"  [i.e. "martial law"] to the exclusion of  due process and the use of applicable domestic law.

We can no longer suffer under a presidency based on trust.  B Obama has proven this concern to be vital.  He is not trustworthy,  period.

50 terrorist leaders have been killed by drone in Pakistan and Afghanistan but more than 5,000 non-combatants have, also,  died in these attacks.  Will that strategy continue in this country,  since this Administration has widened the war on terror to include the whole world,  including this country.

Is that what we want?  That is the question Rand Paul is dealing with.

He began his filibuster at 8:45 am pt,  this morning.

His complaint(s) include some of the following:

Are we so frightened of terror that we give up on the Bill of Rights?

We are a country that has enshrined our rights and they are not to be cast down by anyone.

This plan to allow for death by drone within the borders of this country, with no safe guards except the good will and sensibilities of whoever is president,  must not continue.

There are certain immutable rights that have nothing to do with popular opinion,  but more to do with the rule of law.

As we expand the power of the presidency,  we increase the opportunities of the evil of imperialism as regards the presidency.

No president should be allowed to be judge, jury and executioner. Due process is not the highest regard with B Obama and it should be.
