Representative Sheila
Jackson Lee (D., Texas) claimed that the United
States had a $5.6 trillion surplus at the end of the Clinton administration
Tuesday.
“Remember, we had a $5.6
trillion surplus in 2000 – 2001 from the Clinton
administration,” Jackson
said in the interview while discussing fiscal cliff negotiations.
However, according
to CNN Money,
the “Treasury Department reported a budget surplus… of $127 billion”
for fiscal year 2001 and a $237 billion surplus for fiscal year 2000.. .
. Washington
Free Beacon.
Editor's Notes:
take it to the bank, this 5.6 trillion dollar figure, a number that
somehow popped into Sheila Lee's very angry brain, will be with us for
time eternal. While the truth is something quite different, Jackson
Lee and her Democrat buds only care about making headlines. Even if they
have to record a correction, the two or three day headline is worth the
lie.
The recent revenge election was based almost entirely upon lies and ad hom attacks against Romney. Why did it work? Because a huge majority of those voting for Obama care no more for the truth than they do for balanced budgets and common sense policies. They need leadership, not mere advocacy.
Instead, plan on hearing more nonsense, similar to Obama's justification for the tax hike on the rich. He tells CNN puppetry, that the tax hike is needed to balance the budget, pay for the two unfunded wars in the Bush years and so on. That is his rhetoric. The truth is something totally different. The fact of the matter is this: his tax hike on the rich, funds the government for under a month. So why is he making such a big deal over "next to nothing?"
Answer: headlines --- and the appeal to the ignorant "have nots" that vote, in this country. If he can keep them on board, true freedom-based democracy does not work.
That is why he refused to talk about his plan for the future, during the campaign, or discuss foreign policy or Libya or the economy -- the voters he was trying to attrack don't care about any of that. The name calling and angry looks? The angry sector of our society bought into that nonsense. They are pissed off and, if their president is the same, well, he gets there vote.
When dumb takes over a society, hell is the price to pay.
