PolitiFact: "Ryan said Obama broke his promise to keep a Wisconsin GM
plant from closing. But we don't see evidence he explicitly made such a promise
-- and more importantly, the Janesville plant shut down before he took office. We rate Ryan's statement False."
From PolitFact, we [also] have the Obama quote in question:
I know that General Motors received some bad news yesterday,
and I know how hard your Governor has fought to keep jobs in this plant.
But I also know how much progress you’ve made – how many hybrids and
fuel-efficient vehicles you’re churning out. And I believe that if our
government is there to support you, and give you the assistance you need to
re-tool and make this transition, that this plant will be here for another
hundred years. The question is not whether a clean energy economy is in
our future, it’s where it will thrive. I want it to thrive right here in
the United States of America; right here in Wisconsin; and that’s the future
I’ll fight for as your President.
-- Obama 2008.
Understand that the plant closed its truck division in April
of 2009 and is closed to this day. Obama’s henchmen have busied themselves debating the
time of closer for this plant when, in
point of fact, the time of the closer
really is wholly unimportant, is it not?
Think about it as you read,
again, the Obama statement. Understand that the plant was not closed
until after the election, but – honestly
– what difference does that make? Understand
that if the Janesville plant is/was a GM plant,
and it is/was, is it not proper to ask why it was not reopened
under the Obama/GM bankruptcy plan?
Point of post: to
reiterate the notion that major media sources in this country including
so-called “fact checking” concerns are wholly in the tank for Obama and will go
so far as to lie or set up false assumptions as they work in concert with the
Marxist News Media for the re-election of Barry Obama.
