This is the “generic ballot.” The numbers on this chart, today, are the same as those at the time of the 2010
midterms. Obama’s strategy has been to
insult stay-at-home moms, religious folks on both the Right and the Left, all
equity managers, all bankers, all white
middle class blue collar workers, and a
few folks in Poland and Israel. Maybe
that is why the generic ballot proves the “good name” of the Republican Party.
