Romney continues to be the front runner. Santorum has momentum but no chance of winning the nomination.

Santorum had a very good election night on Tuesday winning big in Alabama and Mississippi,  but losing to Romney in Hawaii and America Samoa. Ron Paul has a total of 48 delegates.  Next stop . . . . . . Missouri with its 30 delegate votes.  It is obvious to me that,  in spite of not winning Alabama and Mississippi outright,  Romney did have a good night in those "Bible belt" states.

There have been 31 state and regional primaries, to date.  Romney has quietly  won 19 of them,  Santorum has taken 10  -- Santorum's campaign noise aside.

Understand this:  the longer primary schedule,  voted into existence by the GOP in 2010,  gives the Grand Old Party [more] time to register Republican voters.  This was the pattern used by the Democrats during their protracted primary season in 2008.The same process may work again,  this time for the Republicans.
