Following today's presentations dealing with two issues, those of severability and the administration of Medicaid, Chief Justice Roberts will assign the task(s) of drafting legal opinion against the backdrop of the several hundred legal briefs submitted to the Court concerning these matters.
The nine justices have not entered into discussions as a body of counselors with regard to the pending judgment of the High Court before the deliberations ending today. That process of review and internal debate begins almost immediately.
The process of drafting and reviewing the individual opinions of the justices concerning the collective submission of the legal briefs will take weeks of effort. It appears that the Court intends to publish its decision by mid or late June.
Its first vote, as a body of justices, will take place sometime after 10 a.m., Eastern Time, this Friday. The public will not be advised as to the outcome of that vote.
