I have always believed that Liberals have a genetic anomaly that allows them to think the way they do. Here is an example.

"Genetic anomaly?"  Yes.  How else do you explain this:  Obama originally asked for a one year extension to the payroll tax.  The House gives him that extension and sends the bill to the Senate.  The Senate, in turn,  reduces the extension to eight stinking weeks  (two months) and leaves Washington for their Christmas vacation.  Understand that eight weeks is not enough time to put the bill into effect and the accepted "wisdom" of morons such as John McCain (who voted for the eight week extension) actually assert  that popular opinion is working against the Republican for not supporting the eight week extension.  When I say that eight weeks is not enough time to enact this bill,  I mean to say that it is not enough time to enact any bill and I am not alone.  The Congressional budget Office has committed to that same observation (as report on Fox, yesterday) as well.

Again, this is a 33 billion dollar bill that will be in "effect" for eight weeks.  Think about it.  Understand that bills of this nature, are never fully written at the time they are approved,  which makes the eight week extension even more ridiculous.  They have to write the bill and spend the money in eight weeks.  Well,  of course, that is not going to happen.  Nothing will happen,  in fact, during this eight week extension.  It is an illusion, an impossibility.

Just another reason why John McCain was a pathetic choice for a GOP presidential bid.

Update:  as an anecdotal bit of evidence to my claim,  I ask you this:  how intelligent is it to say "If we just air up our tires,  we will completely end the need for Middle Eastern oil.?"  Or,

"I want you to pass an eight week tax relief bill,  now" ? !!!

Or,  "The Taliban is not our enemy,"

Or, "We can spend our way out of debt,"

Or, "Now is the time when the Earth begins to cool and the oceans begin to recede."

You guys are a freaking riot !!!!!

  1. Science:

A study funded by the US Government's National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health has concluded that conservatism can be explained psychologically as: a set of neuroses rooted in "fear and aggression, dogmatism and the intolerance of ambiguity".

    ----------
A study by NYU and UCLA published in the Journal Nature Neuroscience shows liberals have a greater cognitive ability to problem solve and cope with changing conditions than conservatives who are more "persistent and structured" and are more reliant on "habitual responses." From the study:
"Liberalism was associated with stronger conflict-related anterior cingulate activity, suggesting greater neurocognitive sensitivity to cues for altering a habitual response pattern."
Essentially, conservatives tend to rely on ‘persistence’ in a ‘habitual response pattern,’ despite signals that this response pattern should change... (i.e. "stay the course")

    ---------

    Study in Current Biology:
Liberals have more gray matter in a part of the brain associated with understanding complexity - the anterior cingulate cortex, while the conservative brain is bigger in the section related to processing fear - the right amygdala.

  2. Actually, studies show that "smarter" people are more likely to say they are liberal, proving nothing, of course.

You mention the "intolerance of ambiguity," above. Liberals are the folks who are more likely to believe in NOTHINGNESS vs God. NOTHINGNESS is ambiguity on steroids, dude. Also, the opposite to "dogmatism" is, ahhhhh, ambiguity, you moron.

Neurosis rooted in fear . . .??? Wow. Fear is the center piece of Liberal politics. Basically, it goes like this: "you all are going to die unless and until you do it our way."

That last quote of yours? It comes from a study of 90 people. There are nearly 7 billion people in this world and you think a study of 90 individuals is definitive? Here are some words in that very study you left out -- "It remains unclear whether the structural differences cause the divergence in political views, or are the effect of them." You probably have no idea what that means as to your conclusions, above.
