Now, the Dems are blaming the American voter for 'gridlock'

From The Hill: House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer suggested Tuesday that voters are to blame for the partisan bickering and standoffs that have defined Congress this year.

The Maryland Democrat said voters are “absolutely right” to think that “Congress isn’t working very well.” But that dysfunction, he said, is largely of their own making.

“The American people have every right to be angry [and] disappointed by the performance of the Congress,” Hoyer told reporters in the Capitol. “Of course, the American people have also elected people with hard stances, so that to some degree the American people are realizing the results of their votes.

“If elections have consequences — which I think they do — some of those consequences are getting what you vote for,” Hoyer added. “In this case, many people voted for people who thought compromise was not something that they ought to participate in.” READ THE FULL ARTICLE HERE.

Two thoughts:

1. As to "we get what we vote for" -- Duhhhhh.

2. And where has compromise gotten those who care about states rights, traditional marriage, gun ownership, the right to work apart from forced union membership, parental rights, legislative attacks on religious expression, government waste and fraud, the exponential expansion of public debt, ever increasing social programs, the expansion of state run educational secularism, the erosion of speech freedoms and the erosion of private property rights?

I have been involved in the politics of this country for 45 years, most of that time as a tax paying citizen, and have watched as the socialist agenda of redistributive wealth gains more and more influence and power. This thing we call "compromise" does not flow both ways.

Historically, compromise has only benefited the One World, socialist redistributionist side of the aisle.

Conservatives have acted exactly like frogs in a cooking pot, floating around, enjoying the company of each other, while the Marxist hordes continually turn up the heat.

Conservatism is about to die, all because we have been willing to compromise.

Time for this to change. "Reverse the flow" is the abiding theme of this blog. And who is fighting this demand for true compromise? Why, it is the Liberal community. You see, they really do not give a flip about compromise as applied to their agenda. For 45 years, we, conservatives, have proven a willingness "to get along," but no more. Why? With the advent of the Marxist Man, B. Hussein Obama, we conservatives suddenly realize that the "liberal version of compromise" is all about the extinction of the conservative agenda.

Read the Hill report again. Steny Hoyer is frustrated with the fact that his 111th congress did not continue. He and his kind want to be the only ones who make decisions. You might say, "No, that is not his complaint. He only regrets the loss of 'compromise'." And I say, "What in the world do you think 'compromise' means to Hoyer and the socialist/redistributionists he represents?"

To a liberal, "compromise" is not about "getting along with the other side," it is about the elimination of the other side.

And how will that work, a life without the other side? We know the answer to that question. Existentially, the answer is the 111th congress. The Effectual Marxists in charge of that congress could not have cared less for the opinions of American people and their legislative agenda is absolute proof of that fact. Once upon a time, there was a liberal Democrat party. But, the Marxist/socialists have co-copt the party. The radical socialists have been there decades, but they did not gain full control of the Democrats until Obama. Clinton was not a radical liberal.

Understand that Obama is not the typical liberal of old.

This thing called 'gridlock' was designed into the political equation by our founding fathers. While compromise is the only solution to gridlock, in a free society, this compromise has to work for all peoples involved. Steny Hoyer's unspoken complaint is that he does not want to compromise. Over the decades, he and his kind have used and abused the art of compromise to install a socialist society in the place of a free market society.

It is time to reverse the flow, and if the Hoyers of the world do not want to join the party, then to hell with them. They have had their way for 45 years.

Its time for the frogs to get out of the water, if, in fact, it is not already too late.
