“We said working folks deserved a break , so within one month of me taking office, we signed into law the biggest middle-class tax cut in history, putting more money into your pockets.” — Obama's Labor Day speech in Detroit.
You and I will be hearing this claim hundreds of times between now and the 2012 elections.
It is a lie. Here is why.
First, he said what he said on purpose, hoping you would believe his claim.
Secondly, it is patently untrue.
My wife and I received $250 each, during 2009. Obama is calling this, "the largest tax cut in history."
Understand that our (my wife and my) tax bracket did not change at all, and, on April 15 of 2010, to our surprise, we had to pay income (!!) tax on this "tax cut." So, we ask, was the $500 whatever, from the Obama government, a tax cut or income? And why did not our tax bracket change, being that our taxes had been "cut?"
Exclusive Report
Finally, I do not want to leave this post without pointing to the largest benefit cut in history. Since Obama has come into office, not one senior citizen has received a cost of living increase as mandated by law. Billions of dollars have been "saved" with this illegal activity over the course of the past two years, soon to be three fiscal seasons. "They" say there has been no inflation, hence, no increases. We say, "There is no inflation by your count because you do not include increases in transportation and heating fuel and increased food prices."
