There are few matters that cause conservatives more angst than Obama's persistence in tying himself to Ronald Reagan. . . . . . . . . as ridiculous as that may sound.
An obvious first point is say that Reagan and Obama are as different as black and white; true on more than one level.
Look, Obama is all about big government, increasing the size of government to the tune of 200,000 federal employees, hired since he took office; hired on his orders. And he wants another 21,000 hired into the IRS, all during a time when we have no money. Understand that "size" is not the only "big government" criteria. In addition "head count," the notion of big government can be measured in terms of governmental "intrusion" into our private or personal lives. Obama sees no limits.
Reagan, on the other hand, is famous for saying, "Government IS the problem." Obama would not agree. The two men represent opposite ends of the American political polemic and Obama is losing the debate.
Understand that Obama fully knows that his view of the way things should be is not the popular view, hence, his appeal to Reagan. Time magazine is a member of the JournoList community and willingly does whatever it takes to prop up the failing Obama. The recent cover on the 12 page magazine is proof of our point.
And Obama's "take one for the gipper" is, yet, another example of the Obama image he and his are trying to foster on the American people, as seen in this clip.
Point of post: when you cannot win on your own merits, you lie, misrepresent and pretend. In this, Obama has taken two years of his administration to prove that he is no different from all other big spending, socialist leaning, One World, Democrats.
